Anti-discrimination laws only serve to worsen the attitudes of those whom discriminate by infringing on their private property rights, and allow those who benefit from such laws to mob rule against innocent civilians, as is what is going on in the Northern Union of America (aka the United States, but it doesn't deserve that name cause America died when Lincoln murdered the Confederate States of America in 1865) right now. I've heard that Switzerland is the closest nation in the Free World to capitalist anarchy; I hope this really is the case, given that Switzerland has much lower personal income taxes than the Union. Taxation is robbery, and I'm glad you Suissemenschen at least recognize that. I wish America in 1776 went the way of Switzerland - truly free markets, truly free gun ownership, true respect for people's private property rights, true freedom of opinion, and cultural respect for Germanic and West Roman values Also, damn - apparently markdown doesn't apply to the title P1r4nhaZürich 140 points 7 days ago We have a progressive tax system. The more you make, the more you pay, percentage-wise. Not many people are questioning this here, so you will be (almost) alone with your view of taxation being robbery. Coincidentally we have just recently voted on our federal government's right to tax us and the decree was accepted overwhelmingly (84.1% Yes-votes). Instead the Swiss public very much believes in the concept of the Social Contract, although we do allow more freedoms than the average European nation. These freedoms come with additional responsibilities to take care of your own in case somebody tries to fuck you over. Additionally with the taxes, we have the right to participate in the decision what is being done with the money with our system of Direct Democracy, where we can propose changes to the constitution and question controversial laws passed by our Parliament. Our freedom of expression is limited to hate speech. This is not enforced very strictly, but if you attract too much attention with hateful comments against minorities you could get in trouble. See Art. 261 With this publicly denying the holocaust of the Jewish people during Hitler's rule in Germany will get you in trouble. It took some digging, but in the early 2000s there were a couple of court cases that handled "supplier sovereignty" as you call it, but with one exception where the owner of a bar was able to provide evidence for a factual reason not to serve a black customer, the law and the court decisions were pretty clear: Restaurants, Bars, shops and cinemas are not allowed to discriminate against customers based on race or ethnicity. Unfortunately the source I'm using is not German. As others have mentioned, gun-ownership is well regulated, so acquiring a gun isn't that hard, but you're not to carry them without a good reason. So a carry-permit is hard to come by. Instead Swiss people love to shoot their guns on ranges and a lot of us are required to regularly shoot the gun issued by the military for our militia army. Since crime is so low, no sane person in Switzerland thinks about "protecting their property" with their gun. Also firing or carrying a gun outside of a shooting range can have strong ramifications. Even police officers have to justify every single bullet they're firing, which doesn't happen very often here. One thing I suspect you'll like is that nationals from these countries are not allowed to acquire guns in Switzerland: Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Algeria and Albania. We do value Western culture, but you have to be aware that 25% of our population aren't citizens and that we have plenty of immigrants from all over the world. While we have rather strict rules and opinions on integration of said immigrants, they're generally welcome in Switzerland. As we also have freedom of religion in our constitution, religious values aside from Christian ones are protected and respected as long as they don't violate other laws. Granted however there is a continued debate on this topic. I do have to disagree, that capitalist anarchy is something Switzerland values. Instead I believe a lot of lee-way is given due to the Swiss system being rather slow and a lot of politicians looking away when enough money is being made. That said, regulations are in place and people and environment are generally well protected when they become target of exploitation. We all strive for perfection, but we also understand that to err is human. I'm not a scholar when it comes to the United States' young history and I don't know particularly much about the Civil War, but if I'm not mistaken, the war was about property rights as in if people can own other people as property in exchange for some basic necessities. As this view is obviously in conflict with Article 8 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nation and Article 4 of the European Convention on Human Rights. In Switzerland the latter is accepted as the law of the land and the federal court has decided that it supersedes even our constitution. This view is debated currently as it violates our sovereignty and our freedom to awful human beings to each other (last part is my opinion). Switzerland does have a shameful past of enslaving children, so called Verdingkinder, but that had little to do with race or the African slave trade. Not saying Switzerland didn't benefit from the exploitation of the African continent though. So to summarize, I don't think this is the country you're looking for, but we're very happy to accept you if you're willing to submit yourself to our laws. And we take it pretty seriously that you follow the laws and keep quiet during Sundays (so no vacuuming, washing laundry or lawn mowing) of we'll call the police after your uncivilized ass. }}
